(April 18, 1989 - September 15th, 2009)

I served with Demetrius Void at Fort Hood Texas and in Afghanistan as his team chief. He was the hardest working man and the greatest person to be around that I had ever met. When we came home from Afghanistan we all hung our heads and shared a moment or silence for him. There were many tears or sadness for him not coming home with us. I wear a bracelet on my left wrist every day in memory of Demetrius and constantly think about him and his family. I miss him dearly and I want his family to know that they had the best son a family could ever ask for and that he will never be forgotten. He reached out and touched many lives and will continue to remain in our hearts and minds forever.

My heart goes out to Void's family. I went to basic training with SPC Void where we became close friends and remained close well after graduation. I'll never forget you battle.   R.I.P.
